Tom Wigmore – double bass

Tom is well-known as a swinging musician proficient in jazz styles ranging from trad jazz to mainstream.  He has featured in line-ups including trios, quartets, quintets, trad bands, gypsy jazz formations, blues bands and big bands. His fine”walking bass” style forms a catching, swinging and solid base to the rhythm section.

As a classically trained musician, his musical talents extend further to classical music and folk and he performs regularly with a symphony orchestra, a folk quartet and the chamber orchestra Touché conducted by Andràs Cifra .

He has performed with acclaimed musicians such as the fine gypsy guitar player Jan Limberger, (uncle of the legendary Rosenberg Trio musicians), the famous accordion player Zoltan Migovics, percussionist Udo Demandt, and Hungarian saxophone player Akos Laki. With the band he has played at jazz festivals in Europe including North Sea Round Town, Jazz by the Sea Festival (on main stage) and toured with the band to Austria.

In the early part of his professional musical career he played full time for a four- year period in various line-ups in Germany and Belgium.
