Adrienne West – gastvocalist

A native New Yorker, Adrienne West began classical voice and piano study at age nine. She later combined some of the jazz she loved listening to at home with her classical studies. Now an internationally respected vocalist and actress, she performs in concerts, jazz festivals and clubs, as well as on TV and radio extensively throughout Europe and Africa in various formations from duo to big band. She also directs Master classes and Workshops for vocalists.

Adrienne performs alongside some of the world’s most prominent musicians including: Johnny Griffin, Buddy Tate, Jerome Richardson, Scott Hamilton, George Robert, Al Cohn, Arnett Cobb, Teddy Edwards, Clark Terry, Joe Newman, Benny Bailey, Slide Hampton, Kenny Burrell and Billy Cobham.

She also teamed up and recorded with the Radio Big Band in Koln, Hamburg, Frankfurt and other big bands in Europe. She appeared on Broadway in the Tony Award winning “ Ain’t Misbehavin’ ” and subsequently toured Europe for five years. Together with her husband David she has written and produced ”Royal Court – A Theatrical Jazz Tribute to Duke Ellington and Nat King Cole”.
